James A. Marcum

Chief Executive Officer, President and Member of the Board of Directors

Mr. Marcum joined Central ParkingSystem in February 2010 as Chief Executive Officer, President and a Director of the Company.  Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Marcum has had a distinguished career having served in senior executive leadership and directorship roles at several large national retail chains focused on consumer electronics, home entertainment, home furnishings, as well as, the drug, health and beauty aids, toys and apparel and footwear categories.  In such capacities, Mr. Marcum has gained extensive experience in managing highly complex operating environments in both growth and turnaround situations. During his career, Mr. Marcum has served as Vice Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Circuit City Stores, Inc. and as a Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ultimate Electronics, Inc.  Mr. Marcum has also served as Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer for Hollywood Entertainment Corporation.  Prior to Hollywood Entertainment, Mr. Marcum was recruited by private equity investors, serving in such roles as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Lids, Inc. and Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of Stage Stores, Inc.  Mr. Marcum’s experience also includes leadership roles at Melville Corporation, a conglomerate of specialty retail chains in the apparel, footwear, drug, health and beauty aids and furniture and accessories sectors where he was Treasurer of the Corporation and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Marshall’s Inc.  Mr. Marcum has also served as an Operating Partner of Tri-Artisan Capital Partners, a merchant banking firm. Mr. Marcum currently serves on the Board of Directors of Iconix Brand Group Inc. and the Sportsman’s Warehouse. His Board experience also included serving as the Lead Director of the Board of the former Bombay Company, a leading specialty retailer in the home furnishings industry and as a Director of Enabl-u Technologies Corporation, a data base management and training software solutions provider.
